FINISHED BUILD · ALLIED HEALTH · JUNE 2026

He'd already started. He just hit the ceiling.

William had begun building the Life Flow site himself on Squarespace and got a fair way in. What he'd run into wasn't design — it was the structure underneath, and any way of knowing whether the thing was working.

Where he started

Half-built, and stuck

William had made a real start on the site himself, and there was nothing wrong with what he'd done. Most of what a template gives you is genuinely fine. What he'd hit was the ceiling — the structure underneath, the content hierarchy, the SEO foundations, and any way of measuring whether it worked.

What made it interesting

Finishing is a different job

Picking up someone else's half-built site isn't the same as starting one. The decisions already made need respecting where they're right and quietly unpicking where they aren't. It has to end up feeling like his site — because it is.

WHAT WAS COMPLETED

The parts a template doesn't give you

Structure — so services, team and funding information each had a proper home instead of competing on one page.

SEO foundations — page titles carrying location, specialty and funding type, proper heading structure and schema markup.

Content and layout — reworked so a nervous first-time client can find what they need without hunting.

Analytics set up — Google Analytics and Search Console connected, with form tracking, so there's finally a way to see what's happening.

Handover — it's still his site to run, which was always the point.

A team page that works hard — because in allied health, people search for the practitioner before the practice.

WHAT CHANGED

Ten weeks of data

79 Clicks from Google since launch, roughly doubling every month — 7, then 19, then 46
4 Enquiries through the contact form in the first quarter. Everyone who started the form finished it
5th Where the team page ranks — higher than the homepage, which is what you want in allied health

Impressions grew from 17 in the first ten days to 203 in August. The team page pulls a 12% click-through rate against the homepage's 2.9% — people searching for a practitioner, finding one, and clicking.

And then ChatGPT started sending him people.

A three-month-old practice, being recommended by an AI assistant. That doesn't happen by accident — it happens when a site is structured clearly enough for a machine to read and trust it. It's a handful of visits so far, not a flood. But most established sites get none at all.

What this involved

A note on this site. William can edit his own website — that's rather the point. Some copy, imagery and layout may have changed since I finished the work. What's described here is what I built and why.

Started building it yourself and got stuck?

That's a completely normal place to end up, and it's a much shorter job than starting over. Send me the link and I'll tell you what it needs — the free audit works just as well on a half-finished site.
